WOODLAND HILLS BATH, CALIFORNIA
This bathroom in Woodland Hills, California includes a renovation that honored the period of the 1920s when the home was built. A previous built-in tub caused continuous water leaking and the bathroom had to be gutted and completely rethought. Instead of recreating another built-in tub, a simple and elegant free-standing white bathtub takes center stage with a floor-mounted tub filler. A new pedestal sink was installed and the tile design scheme was carefully planned to feature white Thassos marble floor tiles with black marble accents. The wainscoting on the walls is clad in beautiful Sonoma Tilemakers white subway tile complete with trims and molding tile pieces to match. It is also continued over a useful bench platform behind the tub for storing bath items while concealing air venting for the lower level below. A soothing green grey color paint covers the walls to provide contrast and tranquility in the space.
